Hello everyone! You are dealing with unwanted guests like rats but prefer a more gentle and natural approach to keep them at bay? You are in the right place! Today, I am excited to share with you an effective and environmentally friendly solution to keep mice out of your home. It’s not just about traps, but also about using the right natural repellents. And the best part? It’s easy, cheap and humane.
Know the mice and their preferences
Mice are naturally attracted to seeds and nuts, which are their main sources of food in nature. These foods are high in protein and fat, which makes them so attractive to our little rodent friends. However, there are some odors that mice find unattractive, and this is where our natural repellent comes in.
Create the perfect natural repellent
Our repellent is a mixture of lemon peel, garlic, coffee grounds, cloves and 9% vinegar. Each of these ingredients is known for its powerful scent, which mice tend to avoid. Here’s how to prepare this repellent:
Ingredients:
Lemon peel
Garlic in slices
Coffee fund
cloves
9% of vinegar
Preparation:
Create a mixture: In a bowl, mix the lemon zest, crushed garlic cloves, coffee and cloves.
Add vinegar: Pour 9% vinegar into the mixture. This acts as a base for repellent and enhances fragrances.
Let brew: let the mixture steep for a few hours or overnight to intensify the fragrances.
Transfer to a spray bottle: Pour the mixture into a spray bottle for easy application.
Use:
Spray areas: Spray around places and openings where mice are likely to enter, such as doors, window sills and any small cracks or holes.
Regular reapplication: Regularly reapply the mixture to maintain its effectiveness, especially after cleaning the area or after rain.
