Does the shower drain stink? Here are the right remedies!
One of the oldest remedies for eliminating odors from the shower drain, whether caused by plumbing or a buildup of dirt, is to use a mixture of vinegar and lemon. Pour 400 ml of white wine vinegar into a bowl, squeeze a lemon and add it to the bowl, strain, then pour it down the drain and let it sit for at least one night. Repeat the operation the next night if the smell has not disappeared completely.
BUT this is not the only solution. You can also use coarse or fine salt, depending on availability. Dissolve half a cup of it in a bucket of hot water and slowly drag it down the drain-it will dissolve dirt and clogs.
Baking soda also neutralizes odors and removes limescale: dilute 200 g in a container with water and pour it down the shower drain. Let it work from dusk to dawn, and the next day you will be free of unpleasant odors.
