Often, due to poor ventilation or climate, the dreaded mold can form on the walls of our homes. As well as being unsightly, mold can be very dangerous to both our health and the structure of our home.

Lavender essential oil
You’ll need : 100 ml denatured alcohol and 1 drop lavender essential oil. These are two precious allies against mildew. By mixing them together, spraying them onto moldy walls, leaving them to act for a few minutes and then brushing them off, you’ll be able to remove mold from the walls.
Hydrogen peroxide
You’ll need: 700 ml water, 2 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide (3%), 2 tablespoons baking soda, 2 tablespoons salt. Mix all ingredients together and spray directly onto mold. Remove with a clean cloth or toothbrush.
Natural, fragrant mildew remover
You’ll need: 15 drops cinnamon essential oil, 10 drops Manuka essential oil, 200 ml water, 200 ml apple cider vinegar. Mix the ingredients and spray over the areas from which you’ve removed the mildew. As well as deodorizing the environment, they’ll help prevent mold.
Grapefruit seed extract
You’ll need: 500 ml water, 2 teaspoons grapefruit seed extract, 2 teaspoons tea tree essential oil. Grapefruit oil and tea tree oil are powerful antibacterial and antifungal agents. Mix the ingredients together and apply to the mold. Leave on for a long time to promote the antifungal action, then remove with a clean cloth.
