How to clean stains and mold from bathroom tiles with vinegar

Depending on the type of water in your area, it is possible that stains will form on the tiles and limestone accumulations in the taps, especially in the shower. This phenomenon is caused by the large amount of minerals that water contains. Once evaporated, it leaves white and green residues of calcium and magnesium. Over time, these deposits harden and become difficult to remove.

It is true that there are products to remove stains and scale deposits, but these products contain ingredients that can be toxic and cause skin reactions. It is better to use natural products that we have at home. In this way we will not run the risk of toxicity and at the same time we do not have to spend a lot of money to get the bathroom back as new.

Now I will explain how to remove stains and limescale with vinegar. It is much more than a simple vinaigrette and has many uses in household cleaning.

Before using the vinegar
I recommend you to run the hot water in the shower and close the door of the bathroom for about ten minutes. This creates a scorching atmosphere that softens the dirt and facilitates work.

If you have a hand-held shower head, you can use it to spray the tiles, then gently wipe with a cloth. This should melt and remove stains and dirt.

apply the vinegar
In a container equipped with a sprayer, mix half of the alcoholic vinegar and half of the water. Apply the solution on tiles and joints and leave for about half an hour.

After a while, use a white bristle brush to scrub tiles and joints. Do not use pumice stones or metal brushes. When finished, turn on the hot shower and rinse the tiles.

Cleaning of limestone deposits
Removing limescale and scale in the bathroom is not only useful to keep the bathroom beautiful, free of white and green spots, but also helps prevent limescale from clogging the shower.

Dip a cloth in the vinegar and wrap it around the tap. Leave it there for an hour. Then clean with water. If you want to enhance the effect of vinegar, mix it with lemon juice.

How to prevent plaque formation
The best solution is to prevent tartar from forming and hardening. Here are some tips.

Clean regularly. This will prevent stains and limescale from forming and improve the performance of the tap.
Keep things as dry as possible. Of course you can not always dry everything, but cleaning it after each use will greatly reduce stains and limescale.
Use a soap that leaves less residue in the shower. You can opt for liquid soap, which does not leave traces.
Airing the bathroom. Open the door and window as long as possible, especially after showering. If the bathroom is poorly ventilated, turn a fan from the door for a while.
It may seem like a demanding job, but with these tips it will be very easy to clean the bathroom from stains and limescale, with shiny tiles and taps.
