The hidden oven door lever that makes it easy to clean: here’s what it’s for

When it comes to household cleaning in our kitchen, that of the oven is undoubtedly one of the most arduous to complete. In the oven visi accumulate food and oil residues that, due to high temperatures and infrequent cleaning, harden and become very difficult to remove.

We have already talked many times about how to clean and degrease the oven without using chemicals, but in this article we want to suggest a very small secret that speeds up oven cleaning and helps us achieve better results.

The door of most ovens, in fact, has a toggle that allows us to remove the door glass so that we can easily clean it.

This toggle, which looks like a small hook, is located on either side of the oven door, very close to the oven door hinges, the ones that allow it to be opened and closed.

To remove the oven glass, simply open the oven door completely, locate the levers and bend them with your fingers or with the help of a tool such as a screwdriver.

It is important to be very careful during this operation, both to avoid injury and to protect the oven’s opening and closing function. If you are unsure, it is best to research your oven model before proceeding with this operation.

Once the oven has been removed, simply wipe it with a cloth soaked in a solution of vinegar and baking soda to remove all haloes and food residue that has accumulated there during oven use.

Caution: the glass of the oven door is tempered and therefore very heavy, as well as fragile. Take the necessary precautions.
